Trees play a vital role in maintaining environmental balance. They absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen, reduce urban heat, prevent flooding, and support biodiversity. In cities, trees are essential for healthy living.
Youth For Earth Uganda’s Two Million Trees Campaign focuses on planting trees across Uganda’s major cities, where environmental pressure is highest. Urban trees improve air quality, provide shade, reduce noise pollution, and enhance the overall aesthetic of city spaces.
Beyond environmental benefits, tree planting builds community ownership. When young people, schools, and residents participate in planting and nurturing trees, they develop a lasting connection to their environment.
This campaign is not only about planting trees it is about restoring ecosystems, strengthening climate resilience, and inspiring a culture of environmental care. Each tree planted represents a commitment to a greener and more sustainable Uganda.
